FTC Apprentice Program
Summer Camps to FTC Team: Introducing the
FTC Apprentice Program!
Summer Camps
Early July to End of July
Summer camps shall be hosted once or twice a week at the John and Judy Gay Library OR the Frisco Public Library depending on availability. There will be 6-7 sessions in total with lessons and hands on experience with subjects including but not limited to Computer-Aided Software, Java Robot Programming, and Team Management. The Summer Camps will be $25 as it costs money on our end to buy new parts, software, and equipment to host such educational experiences.
Capstone Project
End of July; Part of Summer Camps
All individuals will be assigned roles and teams depending on interest and will work on a final capstone project. This project will show mastery of the concepts learned in the summer camp. By the end, students will be able to form meaningful connections with their peers and make new experiences. This will set the stage for the formation of FIRST® Tech Challenge teams.
Team Formation
August Beginning
Team(s) will be formed based on interest and individual relationships with others. More details will come on this as we near the date and the summer camps begin, but there will be an additional fee just to kick off the team (robotics requires a lot of expensive parts). Once team(s) are created, the FIRST® Tech Challenge Season begins for the new team(s).
FIRST® Tech Challenge
August to February 2026
The team(s) will compete alongside 26603 in the same league and will continually receive guidance and support in terms technical and practical knowledge. As we near this date, we will release more details; as people who did this all alone, we promise that there's a lot to experience and a lot to learn 🙂
